FREE Hospice Workshop: Thursday, March 31

JourneyCare's Maureen Burns, Community Health Worker, recently presented an excellent workshop for our community on the topic of "The Five Wishes." Those who participated felt it was a great and valuable time of learning and growing together. JourneyCare is a local nonprofit that provides free community education, linking patients and loved ones to resources within their community. Maureen will return on Thursday, March 31 at 7:00 pm to offer another excellent workshop via Zoom: Hospice 101: Understanding Hospice and Palliative Care, and their Benefits. She explains that hospice care is one of the most unique and robust types of care covered under Medicare. However, many people don’t know much about this type of care. Learn all that hospice has to offer and how it can look different for each individual. Please mark your calendar to join this virtual event! Let Julie know in the Church Office if you plan to attend; the Zoom link will be sent out prior to the event.

If you are especially interested in hearing about a particular topic from JourneyCare, please let us know. Possible topics that could be presented to our community in the future include: coping with grief & loss, topics around aging & dying, public health, care-giving, cancer, and more. These workshops can be an enriching time for our community as we learn to love and support our families, ourselves, and our neighbors.
