As we are honoring Black History Month, we can remember that that history is full of women who have made important contributions to the Justice struggle who are not usually recognized. Three women from the Civil Rights Era (much more likely to credit male leaders) are Daisy Bates, Ella Baker, and Fannie Lou Hamer. Do you know these names? A little research will increase your knowledge and help to correct the way our history functions to ignore vital information. ~Anne Stewart for RPC's Racial Justice Team
