Reba Place Church offers financial support to many organizations and initiatives around the city AND around the world through our Mission Budget. The generous donations and tithes of RPC members and attenders contributes toward this fund. This summer, we will be highlighting some of the organizations that our Mission Budget supports.
One such initiative is Interfaith Action of Evanston (IAE). Member organizations of IAE work together to provide vital resources to Evanston’s most vulnerable communities, most specifically -- hungry and homeless persons in Evanston. Throughout the week, IAE coordinates soup kitchens, a daytime hospitality center for the homeless, weekend warming centers, and an overnight shelter.
Besides a monthly monetary donation, Reba Place Church has supported the work and advocacy of IAE through regular SNAP Gap collections that supplemented the Produce Mobile food distribution. We've also participated in many chilly Walk for Warmth events to raise awareness for the winter warming centers and overnight shelters. You can learn more about Interfaith Action of Evanston through their website or by talking with Mary Pat Martin, our IAE liaison.
