Thoughts for this Week...
As we approach the traditional Christian observance of All Saints Day this Sunday, and the US Midterm Elections in process through Tues, Nov 3, let us remember that we are not the beginning nor the end of the ongoing battle for justice.
We remember that we live and move in the presence of God and in the company of the saints.
We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses.
We remember those who marched, who organized, who registered their neighbors to vote.
We remember those who renounced the use of violence while putting their own lives on the line so that every voice might be heard and every person treated with dignity.
We feel gratitude and take inspiration and hope from their courage for the days ahead.
Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, for the joy of a world in which God's love and justice prevail.
