Pentecost is the Christian holiday celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit to the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension when the Spirit appeared as little flames that rested on each disciple's head. You can read the story for yourself in Acts 2! Did you know that Pentecost is held on the seventh Sunday after Easter (or roughly the 50th day after Easter) and the word Pentecost is from the Greek word 'Pentekostos,' which means 'fifty'?
A traditional way to mark this holiday is by wearing RED! Everyone is invited to wear red to worship on Sunday to join in the celebration!
