Memorial Service for Our Brother, Virgil Vogt

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

Virgil Vogt, our brother and former pastor, passed peacefully to be with the Lord on November 2, 2021, surrounded by family. We grieve with his wife, Joan, their five children and spouses, and their 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and the many, many, others who were touched by Virgil's love and ministry over his 87 years.

The Memorial will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 1:30 pm, followed by a reception from 3 to 5 pm to allow for more sharing of stories. Events will take place at First Presbyterian Church of Evanston,** located at 1427 Chicago Avenue in Evanston, Illinois, 60201. The service will also be livestreamed from this link: https://firstpresevanston.org/vogt/

Please add your memories and tributes to this memorial page, which will be a joy to share with all who miss him in the days to come. To add a tribute, please go through the very simple step of creating a free account with GatheringUs.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Reba Place Church, online here, or mailed to 535 Custer Avenue, Evanston IL 60202; or to NorthShore University HealthSystem Foundation, (Neurological Institute), 1033 University Place, Suite 450, Evanston, IL 60201, or online at foundation.northshore.org/donate.

Please be aware that the City of Evanston requires face coverings for indoor gatherings.

**We are so grateful to our neighbors at First Presbyterian Church, with whom Virgil had close relationships over the years, for allowing us to hold this event in their space! The Memorial will be too big for the Reba Place Church Meetinghouse in this season of needing more space between people.
