Anti-Racism Book Group

Updated: Jul 15, 2020

RPC is hosting a book group for white-identifying folks to dive deeper into understanding whiteness. This will not be a space to discuss if we are racists, but rather how racism shows up within us. As white folks we swim in systems that perpetually lift and center our narratives, and this is an opportunity to start anti-racism work by looking within ourselves. We will read the book "White Fragility" by Robin DiAngelo and use a study guide provided by District 65. The group will meet either outdoors in a socially distanced environment or via Zoom, and will be led by one or two RPC facilitators TBA. Books will be made available through RPC for $5 for the first 20 participants and purchased from Semicolon, Chicago’s only black woman-owned Chicago bookstore; all others must purchase their own book.
