Becoming a Visitor

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Senior Connections! Visitors spend one hour a week with their senior friend, doing anything from taking walks and working on memoirs or photo albums to just sitting and chatting. We ask for a commitment of one year (or one school year, for students.) The rewards are many for both the senior and the visitor.

If you are interested in volunteering, fill out our volunteer application and return it to by e-mail or post. The next step would be to attend a training, so please check our calendar for upcoming training dates. We will also contact you when we receive your application. Feel free to call or e-mail us any time with questions.

Attending our two-hour training is a good way to explore in general whether this volunteer opportunity is a good fit for you. At the training, we will tell you more about Senior Connections and expectations of visitors. You will also have an opportunity to choose the person you'd like to visit and to set up a date for us to introduce you.

Our Office

We are located at the Reba Place Ministry Center at 535 Custer Ave. Our office is just one block west of the South Boulevard "el" stop on the corner of South Blvd. and Custer. A doorbell is located at the right side of the Custer Ave. entrance. For more detailed directions and a map, click here.

We look forward to hearing from you and connecting you with a new senior friend! Thank You!
